Rockland, ME

After a steamy, humid walk up Mt. Megunticook, hefty sandwiches and refreshing salads were much appreciated at The Brass Compass in Rockland, ME. My partner in crime had a Haddock Sandwich, which needless to say, filled him up. I had a Caesar Salad with Cajun Grilled Shrimp. While the dressing was a bit reminiscent of dressing from a bottle (not to mention about a bottle’s worth of dressing was put on my salad), the shrimp were great. Fresh from Maine waters, the local shrimp, which are naturally small in size, were tender and spicy. Overall, a satisfying lunch in a great location as a pit stop on our way to Boothbay Harbor…
